Direct delivery · visible decisions
A process that keeps the work and the reasoning together
I stay responsible from the first scope through the final release. The process is designed to expose decisions early, keep feedback specific, and prevent launch-week surprises.
Every engagement moves through six visible phases: frame, map, design, implement, verify, and hand off. The depth changes with the project; the responsibility for clarity and QA does not.
Six phases
From unclear brief to a controlled release
Each phase produces something reviewable before the next one takes on more cost or technical risk.
- 01Frame the decision
Clarify the audience, business action, evidence, constraints, and launch condition before choosing screens or technology.
- 02Map the experience
Turn the brief into page hierarchy, content requirements, user states, integrations, and a reviewable first scope.
- 03Design with real content
Build the responsive interface around representative copy, media, products, forms, and edge states rather than empty boxes.
- 04Implement in small releases
Keep working software visible on staging, document tradeoffs, and resolve platform risks before they reach launch week.
- 05QA the complete path
Test navigation, content, forms or commerce, responsive behavior, accessibility basics, metadata, and error states.
- 06Launch and hand off
Release with a clear checklist, ownership notes, measurement requirements, and a record of anything intentionally deferred.
What keeps it moving
Small feedback loops, one approval owner.
A project moves faster when the source material, technical access, and decision owner are known. I document open questions and tradeoffs so feedback can resolve a decision instead of restarting the design.
When a specialist or client-side dependency is required, it is made visible in the scope rather than hidden behind an agency promise.
Useful inputs
- Current site, product, or working brief
- Audience and intended customer action
- Content, brand, and proof assets
- Platform, integration, and access constraints
- One owner for approvals and consolidated feedback
A clear next step
Discuss a clearly scoped website project through Upwork.
Share the current URL, the business goal, and any fixed constraints in Upwork Messages. I will reply there with the questions needed to define a sensible first scope.
